Job Description

Our Client forms part of UK Retail and is a nationwide team of risk management practitioners who specialise in supporting our customers in key areas of operational risk. The team is funded by the business to deliver revenue to the branches whilst to a lesser extent supporting value added services. You will be responsible for providing full valuation services to our customers in accordance with RICS standards for both commercial and residential properties.ResposibilitiesResponsible for providing and/or obtaining valuations for our clients customers in accordance with RICS standards and requirements including market valuations and development appraisals.

  • Prepare and present property reports, business cases, statements of need and associated evidence as required, taking accurate measurements of sites and premises.
  • Visit sites at all stages of development, from green field to foundations and completed buildings.
  • Write detailed reports on property for purposes such as rent reviews, investment potential, valuations for mortgages and other purposes, marketability and building surveys.
  • Delivery of in-house or client training.
  • Write and submit proposals to insurers on behalf of the client to reach the best possible insurance solution for the client.
  • Maintain a high external and internal profile to maximise the opportunity for winning new business and obtaining business leads.
  • In addition, the jobholder may be required to perform other duties assigned by their Line Manager, as required by the needs of the business.Essential Skills and Experience
  • Relevant experience of commercial and residential valuation surveying.
  • Evidence of delivery of suitable styled reports acceptable for clients multi purposed needs, for example due diligence, sum insured adequacy etc.
  • A thorough understanding of the appropriate regulations and guidelines as applied to the type of client being dealt with.
  • An ability to transfer this knowledge on either a one:one basis or via a training session to clients / prospects / staff.
  • Good physical mobility in order to survey a site, a building under construction or an inaccessible part of a residential property.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Qualifications
  • You must be registered as an RICS valuer, carry and maintain up to date accreditation with RICS achieved by either undergraduate, postgraduate or vocational courses.
  • You must maintain RICS valuer status (Level 3) complying with the Red Book and RICS CPD requirements.
  • A good understanding of Word, Excel & PowerPoint preferably to a certified standard.
