OnPoint Executive Recruitment are seeking a Transport Planner to work for a well-established Transport company whose services include general haulage, warehousing, distribution and pallet network operationsDays - Monday to Friday 8-5.30 (office open 6am - 7.30pm)but flexible to work earlier and later shifts to suit the needs of the businessThe successful applicant will already have a Transport Planner background and can in return expect a progressive career with excellent rewards.Responsibilities:Route planning and scheduling with vehicle sizes and weights and understand network planningTo ensure that all vehicles are back loaded and where possible ensuring maximum profitabilityKeeping up to date with transport issues and dealing with changes to schedules such as breakdownsMonitor delivery performance and ensure in line with company KPIsEnsuring fleet is generating profit through good planningLiaise with hauliers, drivers and colleagues to ensure on time deliveriesAbility to change traffic planning schedules to accommodate additional businessSkills required:Previous experience of route planning in general haulage or similar environmentExperience with multi-dropComputer literate with strong MS OfficeAbility to keep up with a changing load plan and make quick decisions when changes are neededWorks well under pressure and on own initiativeAbility to challenge and question for improvement existing processesFlexible approach to working hoursStrong communicator and people skills Required skills
