Job Description

Job Title: Trading Standards Enforcement OfficerSalary: £14.19 p/hLocation: (B33) Garretts Green, BirminghamWe are working alongside Birmingham City Council to recruit a short term Trading Standards Enforcement Officer to assist in an increase in workload and to assist the progression of existing investigations. Under the general direction of the appropriate RegulatoryServices Operations Team Manager, conduct or cause to be conducted investigations, enquiries, surveys and trade audits into such trade and commercial affairs as are allocated, including the enforcement of delegated legislation and other related duties as required.Duties & Responsibilities

  • To comply with the City Councils health and safety policies, and the Divisions Enforcement Policy.
  • To follow safe working practices and assist in the maintenance of good housekeeping practices in order to achieve a safe and healthy working environment.
  • To contribute to the review and preparation of relevant risk assessments.
  • To be responsible for maintaining relevant records, data and statistics using computer systems, where appropriate.
  • To plan and co-ordinate investigations, trade audits or surveys into particular firms or individuals in connection with possible serious or complex offences and to produce reports for legal proceedings as appropriate.
Skills & Abilities
  • Educated in a relevant field, or significant experience in a related role.
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of legal disclosure with the ability to assess evidence and unused material, and complete CPIA schedules.
  • You must be able to drive with your own transportation - mileage is paid.
  • You must have a Basic DBS.
