Job Description

Tooling EngineerContract position outside IR353 month rolling contract West Birmingham Our client is a tier one supplier of plastic injection moulded components to major OEMs around the UK and are in need for a Contract Tooling Engineer to support them with new tooling introduction for the next 3 months minimum. As a Tooling Engineer you willbe required to support validation of new and modified tooling and processes, to provide process improvements and fault identification/correction to production.Must have skill set

  • Experience within automotive plastic injection moulding
  • You will have had prior work experience of development trails regarding NPI.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management and diverse audiences, including suppliers and internal/external customers
  • Ideal candidate to have immediate to 2 weeks start date.
Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will be able to lead advanced tool trials, machine conditioning & optimisation, cycle time improvements & scrap reduction.
  • Conduct initial Tool trials in plant and develop production process by driving Process Maturation and create Documentation in readiness for production process.
  • Provide technical support for assembly processes with a focus to standardised set ups to minimise downtime and scrap.
  • Improve process reliability by utilising CI Tools to improve efficiency.
  • Make cycle time improvements through CI activities using appropriate tools and methodology.
  • To carry out tool and material trials
  • Provide mould tooling technical support
  • To drive continuous improvements ensuring product quality is maintained & good working practices are adhered to.
