Job Description

Closing Date: 07/03/2022Birmingham 2022 are looking for a Technology Project Manager to deliver and coordinate key technology projects and to support the central Technology Programme Management team on cross-functional activities. Using a cohesive and efficient approach to managingtasks, collating information, and meeting deadlines across the TEC Department, the successful candidates will build strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels of seniority and manage multiple workstreams. The team are looking for someone with project or programme management experience, ideally within a Technology setting or on projects that involve multiple deliverables and stakeholders. You will also be confident in using MS Excel and possess strong Knowledgeof effective project controls and governance processes and procedures.Responsibilities:

  • Build strong working relationships with all colleagues and develop effective working relationships with other key functional areas.
  • Manage multiple streams of work at any one time, communicating with multiple stakeholders and juggling deadlines and priorities.
  • Act as the point of liaison between the Technology and the wider Games departments when required, displaying confidence in communicating with senior colleagues across the business.
  • Manage the key contractor workforce requirements across a diverse group of TEC partners and suppliers (for example Games Time accommodation, transportation, and accreditation requirements).
  • Proactively manage the Project Plans, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Support the proactive management of risks and issues across the TEC programme, ensuring key items are escalated in a timely manner.
  • Support Readiness planning, testing and rehearsals.
Skills & Experience Required:Essential
  • Previous experience of working in a project/programme management capacity on projects that involve multiple deliverables and stakeholders
  • Passionate about the delivery of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games
  • Knowledge of effective project controls and governance processes and procedures
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in the use of information technology including MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • The ability to influence others and manage relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders of different seniority levels
