Job Description

Role: Technical IT Field EngineerJob Type: PermanentLocation: Remote / Client-site basedRemuneration: £25-28,000 + full expensed car and fuel cardChapman Tate Associates seeks an IT Field Engineer to join this highly reputable and established Service Provider of Childcare and Adoption Services.The role will be to help and maintain a number of sites network, server, workstation and IT infrastructure.You must have a UK Driving License and be able to pass CRB check as you will have access to sensitive data.The role will include (but not limited to the following):

  • Onsite delivery of solutions, installations, maintenance, and repairs on company equipment and assist in asset management of all IT equipment.
  • Determine site and equipment requirements. Understand consequences/implications of not delivering solutions on time and to required standard.
  • Develop project installation and escalation plans.
  • Configure system hardware, routers, switchs, Access Points, software and network components.
  • Provide support in design and development of Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan and execute DR activities as per the scheduled plan.
  • Assist in Asset & Budget management of lines for all types of connectivity.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases in conjunction with Systems Team Management and Projects
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts.
  • Create required reports in response to business needs.
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
This is a full time permanent position with the opportunity to develop further in your career.Technically you will have experience around the following:
  • Network experience on Cisco routers
  • Wireless access points
  • Desktop support
  • Server install and config within Windows Server 2003-2008
  • AD, DNS and DHCP experience
  • Understanding of VoIP
