SF Recruitment are currently working to recruit for permanent Indirect Tax Manager for a manufacturing client based in Birmingham. Directly reporting into the Finance Director, the purpose of this role is to coordinate with the European finance teams inregards to VAT, support the finance team with tax items in Europe and any additional adhoc problems as they come up. Accountabilities include: - Coordination of national and international VAT and tax advice to the various business functions - Support implementation and optimization of our PLEX system for country specific and EU community VAT requirements - Ensure tax compliance and consistency with local tax legislation - Monitoring of changes in European tax regulations, analysis of the respective effects and derivation of tax-related recommendations - Support during tax audits and communication with the tax authorities - Support international tax team on various projects - Support accounting team with tax calculations - Coordination with outside tax consultants on various matters as they ariseIdeally, you will have experience working within a similar role (with at least four years of experience with indirect tax.) You will have extensive knowledge around VAT and have an understanding of European tax legalisation (preferably German). Experience withSAP is advantageous and you must have an organised, analytical and proactive approach to your work.
