Job Description

We have a current opportunity for a Substance Misuse Practitioner. The position will be based in Birmingham. For further information about this position please apply.Job Title : Substance Misuse PractitionerLocation: BirminghamHours: Full time / 37.5 hours per weekType: PermanentIndustry: Substance MisuseKey Responsibilities:In this Substance Misuse Practitioner role your responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting with clients face to face offering guidance , support and harm reduction care plans
  • Managing a case load of 40 - 60 service users & liaising with multi agency teams including family members as appropriate.
  • Coordinate reduction and detoxification plans with service users
  • Promote Involvement In the service users recovery plan by family members, carers and the Individual
  • Lead on Recovery planning , Risk assessments, Safeguarding and on going assessments.
  • Provide safer injecting advice & urine screening in service
  • Run a clinic / drop in centre once a week with a nurse prescribe
Skills and Experience
  • Understanding substance misuse and the key components of addiction
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Driver & access to own vehicle
