I am pleased to say I am working with a National client, who have been the number one in their market for over 30 yearsThey have asked me to find them an experienced SQL Server DBA to join their IT team.As a SQL Server DBA you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems.The role will be home based with very occasional travel to their Midlands officesAs SQL Server DBA your role will involve:* Manage SQL Server databases* Configure and maintain database servers and processes* Monitor systems health and performance* Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security* Analyse, solve, and correct issues in real time* Provide suggestions for solutions* Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes* Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement* Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hoursAs the SQL Server DBA you will need to have experience with:* Experience debugging query execution plans* Using monitoring tools to diagnose poor performance issues* Experience with backup, restores and recovery models within a production environment* Experience working with SQL replication within a production environment* Working with SQL clustering within a production environment* Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools* Extensive knowledge of indexing and index maintenance* Windows Server Failover Cluster with SQL Server
