Job Description

Specification Sales Manager - Plumbing/ Social HousingJob Title: Specification Sales Manager - Plumbing/ Social HousingIndustry Sector: Social Housing Landlords, Housing Authorities, Local Authorities, M&E Contractors, DOO, Plumbing Contractors, Plumbers & Heating Merchants and Builders MerchantsArea to be covered: Midlands, South West & WalesRemuneration: £36,000-£40,000 + £7,000-£8,000 BonusBenefits: Fully expensed Hybrid Car & Full BenefitsThe role of the Specification Sales Manager - Plumbing/ Social Housing will involve:

  • Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of smart water control technology (helps homeowners protect their property from the risk of water damage)
  • 70% of your time will be spent winning specifications with social housing landlords, local authorities and county councils
  • Remainder of your time managing relationships with M&E contractors, plumbing contractors, installers, plumbing & heating merchants and builders merchants
  • 70% account development role, our client is very well known within social housing landlords, local authorities and county councils in Birmingham, Bristol etc.
  • 30% new business development where our client is less well known, e.g. South Wales
  • Project sizes can very from 150 to 1,500 units
  • Tasked with increasing revenue by 5%, currently achieving circa 20,000 units per year
  • Inheriting an area currently performing in line with budget expectation
The ideal applicant will be a Specification Sales Manager - Plumbing/ Social Housing with:
  • Specification field sales experience with social housing landlords, local authorities and county councils
  • Ideally plumbing & heating or kitchen bedroom & bathroom KBB industry associated field sales background
  • Field sales experience with M&E contractors, plumbing contractors, installers, plumbing & heating merchants and builders merchants is not essential
  • Methodical in approach, as relationships with social housing landlords, local authorities and county councils can take many months to build
  • Ambitious, strong organisational skills and excellent communicator
  • Robust KPI and CRM management
