Job Description

Spatial Data Analyst (KRN)Hours of Work: 36.5 per weekReference number: WMCA00127Salary: £25,811 - £30,191 per annum + exclusive benefitsLocation: 16 Summer Lane, Birmingham, B19 3SDWho we needWe are looking for creative, driven problem solvers who can work comfortably with data and in a highly collaborative environment to help us centrally manage the Key Route Network (KRN) Highway Infrastructure assets.You will be supporting the Network Resilience Data Manager and must be creative as this role will require developing the KRN asset management systems and development of innovative solutions to provide insight for transport intelligence and performance management.You must be prepared to work closely with partners from across the local authorities, in addition to strengthening existing collaborative relationships with Highways England, HS2, Network Rail and Department for Transport. In conjunction with this, the role will implement the necessary steps required to monitor the application of these outcomes.To succeed in this role, you will need knowledge and experience of Geographic Information Systems software applications and data capture and analysis. You will have proven experience of developing web based mapping solutions and be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to details.You will need to be comfortable working in a highly complex political environment, in which you have a proven ability to negotiate and achieve required outcomes from conflicting demands.In return for your hard work and commitment, we will reward you with a range of competitive and attractive benefits.About the teamThe Network Resilience team within TfWM is responsible for the development and delivery of congestion management and travel demand management strategies, to mitigate the impact of congestion and delays caused by roadworks and disruption arising from investment on the transport system. Embedded within the team is the management of the Key Route Network (KRN) - 605km of strategic local roads and safety and security, keeping people safe when using our integrated transport network. We are also responsible for the Regional Transport Coordination Centre a new multi-agency facility to be opened in December 2019.Who we areTransport for West Midlands (TfWM) plans, develops and manages an integrated transport system for the West Midlands that is reliable, affordable and accessible for all.
