Job Description

SOX Manager£440.00 PAYE / £571.27 UmbrellaBirmingham (Hybrid2 days in the office)Until March 2023HSBC are currently searching for a SOX Manager to join the team! Within this position you will support the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Senior Manager and Head of HSBC UK Financial Reporting Risk who represents Finance in the Non-Financial Risk Board. You wouldbe responsible for managing the relationship on the subject matter with senior internal and external stakeholders and would be a trusted advisor to the Finance ExCo.To succeed in this, you will need to be able to jump into the position and be a self-starter. As this team looks after the whole of SOX requirements for HSBC UK you would be required to be very hands on within this position.In this role, you will:

  • Maintain entitys risk exposure within risk appetite by delivering a structured programme for the management of all financial reporting risks with appropriate controls
  • Lead the identification, assessment, and remediation of key global thematic control issues
  • Lead control improvement initiatives ensuring practical and workable solutions and best practices are suitable shared
  • Perform deficiency evaluation, review, and challenge. Ensure all deficiencies are recorded in HELIOS on a timely basis
  • Prepare insightful management information reports on internal control matters to support SOX governance meetings and entity Audit Committee meetings
Requirements / Experience:
  • Extensive experience, and thorough understanding of managing, overseeing, and applying controls across the entity
  • Understanding of the Finance operating model at Group Business and Country levels
  • Thorough understanding of areas within Finance and other areas of risk e.g., legal, compliance
  • Qualified accountantexperience within Banking and Financial services in the field of risk and controls preferable
  • Knowledge of HELIOS preferred
  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Experience working within large scale financial service institutions
