Job Description

The Company:

  • This company is one of the leading manufacturers in the world with a strong range of Industrial and Factory Automation products as well as Industrial & Mobile Hydraulics.
  • Operating within the Factory Automation, Automotive Automation, Industrial, Mobile and Oil & Gas Industries in the UK and internationally.
  • Relationships in place with key customers already.
  • Part of a wider engineering business.
  • Experts in hydraulics and electronics for both Industrial, Mobile and Factory Automation.
The Role:
  • As the Solution Sales Manager - Battery Production & Assembly you will be focussing on the Battery & EV production market dealing with car manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers to get them specified onto the production line.
  • You will be engaging with stakeholders in the plant planning process as there are going to be a lot of brand new factories - Offering Factory Automation and Automotive Automation solutions.
  • Selling Factory Automation equipment including Production Tooling, IoT, Conveyors, Work Stations, Assembly Lines, Drive & Controls, Pick and Place, Automated Movement Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLCs & HMIs etc
  • Dealing with Automotive manufacturers, Electric Vehicle manufacturers, Battery Production companies as well as Civils involved in the construction of factories (people like Nissan, JLR, Ford, Tesla, British Volt, KUKA etc...).
  • Orders can be from £250k-£2million and ideally have 3 or 4 on the go at a time.
  • Ideally looking to bring in £10-£20mill over 5-10 years. Projects can take 18 months.
  • £55K-£70k basic salary, bonus up to 30% of basic salary, car, 2.7% guaranteed holiday bonus, Death in Service, Income Protection, 26 days holiday + bank holidays, Pension, Laptop, Mobile.
The Ideal Person:
  • Ideally someone from the Electric Vehicle, Battery Production or Automotive Environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Battery Production and knowledge of the players in the industry.
  • Someone who has built solutions into factories for Battery Production who can negotiate at a senior level.
  • Someone who can show examples of where they have been involved in Battery Production projects.
  • Maybe someone who has worked for an Automotive manufacturer such as Nissan, JLR, Ford, Tesla etc or a Battery manufacturer such as British Volt or even a Tier 1 supplier to that market.
  • Min HNC/HND though ideally a degree in: Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Manufacturing/Production Engineering.
  • Understanding of Production Tooling, IoT, Conveyors, Work Stations, Assembly Lines, Drive & Controls, Pick and Place, Automated Movement Systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLCs & HMIs etc
