The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator who is self-motivated, with the ability to work skilfully individually,as well as part of an enthusiastic team.Software Engineer / Applications £25,000 - £40,000 + Pension, Friday Afternoons Off & Competitive Salary Birmingham, West Midlands Ref: 23246Software and Control Systems Engineer - The Role:The role will involve working with the client through all phases of a project life cycle including requirements capture, specification, design and implementation, documentation, installation, commissioning, handover, training, and supportMostly working on guided assembly, mobile robotics and test systems which would require an understanding of process, IT system interaction and how parts under test are connected and function.Interfacing to 3rd party systems using SQL, OPC-UA, JSON, TCP/IP, and RS232Interfacing to parts being manufactured using analogue and digital I/O, CAN, or LINAs well as communication, documentation and project management skills, the role also requires an understanding of mobile robotics, mechanical, electrical and vehicle systems.Occasional customer visits across the UKSoftware and Control Systems Engineer - The Person:Well-rounded engineer to work on a variety of equipment for company assembly and test solutions.Knowledge of working in a practical process control and automation environmentBasic control programming (Python, VBA, IsaGraf, SQL, PLC Logic Control)Requirements capture and the ability to create or update specifications.Peripheral and electronics or control systemsPC builds, software installations and application configurationElectronic / Software / Control Systems based Degree / HND or Time ServedThey are looking for a highly motivated, practical and proactive Engineer who is able to communicate well at all levels and be customer focused and commercially aware.
