Job Description

We have a vacancy for a Soft Services Manager who will manage the cleaning, waste, furniture, cloakrooms and mobility operation of the contract, ensuring high quality and professional services are delivered within budget and in compliance with Health andSafety legislation, contract specification and Company policies.Youll also manage the recruitment, induction and training of employees, including high volumes of casual workers, to meet stringent service delivery levels for each client. Procurement also forms a major part of this role.Reporting to the Head of Soft Services, you will also develop an excellent relationship with the Client representatives, always communicating effectively, responding to any issues raised and ensuring non-conformances are addressed within agreed timescales.You will maintain effective control of the operation through several reporting and monitoring tools including an electronic scheduling system, client EBMS system.Youll primarily be based in the Birmingham City Centre sites.Responsibilities will include:

  • To co-ordinate all activities in respect of the NEC Group FM contract
  • To maintain an effective scheduling system.
  • To ensure financial budgets are monitored and costs do not exceed the budgetary amounts.
  • To ensure a robust H&S Management plan is in place to ensure a successful operation.
  • To provide a monthly cleaning report showing status of operations and highlighting any key points, Issues and areas of risk or concern.
  • To ensure all orders are placed with vendors in order that deliveries are received in full and on time.
  • To liaise with OCS & NEC stakeholders to ensure that all deadlines are met.
Qualifications and Experience required:
  • Proven experience in a cleaning management role - preferably within the private sector.
  • Leading a team of more than 10 cleaning/portering operatives
  • Delivering process driven efficiencies
  • Impact trained
  • Experience using cleaning machinery and delivering a cleaning service within tight timelines
  • Excellent personnel management skills
  • Strong motivation and team building skills
