Job Description

Site Services Project Manager - LandfillLocation: Ideally Midlands based but flexibleSalary: £30-38,000 + company vehicleReporting to the General Manager of this customer facing leading organisation The Project Manager, with Civil Engineering qualifications, will have key responsibility to support the Client Services Team in scope and costing engineering projects plus manage a small specialist engineering site team consisting of electricians, mechanical fitters, ground workers and sub-contractors operating throughout the UK to ensure profitable delivery of all site infrastructure works.The role is to take responsibility for the safe and timely execution of multiple projects in accordance with budgetary, programme and quality requirements.Projects will be primarily based on landfill sites and connected to pollution control systems, varying from 1 day to several weeks duration.Line management for a team of multi-skilled engineers both on-site and at head office, working collaboratively with other functions to ensure that project and servicing work is undertaken in line with client expectations.The Role:

  • The jobholder will be working cross-functionally and collaboratively with all business functions to optimise their accountabilities in the best interests of the company and broader group
  • Ensuring that HSQE Management Systems and processes are adhered to, implemented, and maintained.
  • Line management of site staff to include defining clear roles, responsibilities and deliverables, performance management and staff development.
  • Plan, manage and deliver all contracts in a professional and thorough manner to ensure quality, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure commercial and contractual compliance on all projects.
  • Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope and drawings are documented are signed off by the client.
  • Negotiate best value with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Identify business opportunities and communicate internally to ensure a proactive approach to new opportunities.
  • Support tendering and quoting activities as required.
  • Provide management information on financial performance of the department, activity and individual project as required.
  • Assist the management team in the budgeting process to ultimately deliver all activity to budget EBIT performance across engineering, through operational excellence and careful cost management, including subcontractor control.
  • Develop and maintain an up to date knowledge of environmental issues and technical methods.
  • Develop an understanding of industry specific engineering principles that can be applied to problem solving and to the management of the Service engineers.
  • Regular liaison with Field Services team to ensure that all client works are scheduled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement a process for the compilation and issue all information to the relevant Account Manager to enable works completed by the team to be invoiced accurately in a timely manner and signed off by clients for payment.
  • Work with the Business services team to set up an effective system to provide all financial information on the activity in line with the monthly accounts timetable for stock reconciliation, invoicing, purchase invoice sign-off and reserves preparation.
  • The Person:
  • Degree, HND or HNC educated Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Progressive Civil Engineering project management experience.
  • People management experience
  • Landfill experience, or equivalent
  • NEBOSH
  • CDM experience
  • CSCS
  • SMSTS/SSSTS
