Job Description

About the role:The role will consist of involvement in all phases of the project lifecycle including site survey, design, system configuration, installation, and test. The location of the role will be split between office and on site across the railway network where sometravel and lodging will be required on occasion.What youll be doing:

  • Preparation of documentation and organisation of equipment & tools to conduct site-based activities.
  • Production of installation designs.
  • Configuration of user interfaces.
  • Conduct site surveys within Signalling Equipment Rooms.
  • Installation of monitoring equipment within Signalling Equipment Rooms.
  • Test and commissioning of monitoring equipment within Signalling Equipment Rooms.
  • Be responsible for own safety and always have an awareness of colleagues safety.
  • Ability to use hand tools and operate test equipment (training provided where required).
  • Working within a team alongside colleagues and sub-contractors.
What were looking for:
  • Good communication skills.
  • Technical understanding of electrical and/or electronic principles.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to resolve issues.
  • Willingness to travel and lodge overnight where required. There will be a requirement to work night shifts on occasion.
  • Valid UK Driving License.
The following experience / skills are desirable but not essential:
  • Experience working with railway Signalling equipment with a background in either design, testing or installation.
  • IRSE licensed in either design, installation or testing.
  • Ability to interpret Signalling plans / Signalling circuit diagrams.
  • IRSE Membership
  • Experience in using CAD drawing packages such as Microstation or Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience in participating in risk workshops.
  • Experience in adhering to railway standards and processes.
