Job Description

SHEQ Advisor: Utilities Salary/Package - £35,000- £45,000Alecto recruitment are currently working with an established utilities company, who are looking for an experienced SHEQ advisor. This will be to oversee their health & Safety processes, as well as key involvement in the continuation of their Lloyds accreditationfor NERS.They are an accredited ICP, but are also operating heavily across the growing Electrcial Vehciale charging sector. Looking after large scale commercial projects.Purpose of Job

  • Joining the HSE team with the aim of continuously improving the Groups HSEQ performance.
  • Planning, development and implementation of the HSE & Q strategy.
  • Working with Senior Managers to ensure that the HSE & Q procedures are developed.
  • To ensure a high level of compliance with the Groups HSE & Q policies, processes and procedures
  • Give organisational health, safety, environmental and quality management advice
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Uphold, safeguard and promote the Companys values and vision relating particularly to ethics, integrity and corporate responsibility.
  • Enforce the policies, procedures and systems to provide for a safe, secure and quality business operation
  • Lead, drive and improve the Companysl HSE & Q reputation
  • Apply the overall Companys standards and guidelines on HSE & Q
  • Ensure a high level of HSE & Q performance through regular audits and identify areas for improvement and ensure that appropriate corrective and preventative actions are identified and managed to completion.
  • The review and redesign of business processes and procedures to improve performance and deliver continual improvement
  • Working with Senior Managers to identify specific business needs and to develop solutions and business processes to meet these requirements.
  • Ensuring and monitoring compliance with national and international standards, legislation and client driven systems.
  • Coordinate and where necessary lead any accident/incident investigation and reporting.
  • Recruit and manage the HSE & Q team ensuring due processes are followed throughout.
  • Take an active role in business development, pre-qual and bid submissions and general promotion of the Company.
  • Communicate clearly, consistently and in a timely manner with Clients and Company colleagues.

Professional Experience
  • Experience of working within a national team of managers.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant HSE experience at senior management level in the industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an HSE role.
Desirable Attributes
  • Holder of a relevant professional or vocational qualification
  • Able to commit to the concept that Health, Safety and Environment is a key business value.
  • Able to commit to the concept of Equal Opportunity in employment.
  • Full and Valid Driving Licence.
Education
  • Degree level or above
  • Chartership with a relevant professional body
