Job Description

Sewing MachinistExciting opportunities for Sewing Machinist roles for IAC Elmdon automotive factory which is an expanding automotive manufacturer supplying Jaguar Land RoverAs a Sewing Machinist you will need to have:

  • In depth knowledge of sewing and sewing machinery in particular sewing leather
  • Excellent hand-eye co-ordination
  • Experience of working to targets
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Automotive Experience desirable
    • Details:
  • Salary: Days- £10.51ph, Afternoons- £11.03ph
  • Working Hours : Mon-Fri, 2 shift rotation, Days 6am - 2pm, PMs 2pm - 10pm,
  • Location: IAC Elmdon
  • Temporary Ongoing Positions,postions may go permanent after 12 weeks
    • Role of a Sewing Machinist
  • Complete requirement for sewing items selecting appropriate materials
  • Draw threads through needles and adjust machine functions to meet the requirements of the sewing project
  • Sew missing stitches or replacement parts
  • Follow an operating instruction for the particular job
  • Report any faults or discrepancies to the Team Leader
  • Quality Control checks
  • Recording how much raw material has been used during production, the number of items produced and the amount of scrap
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance tasks on sewing machines to ensure their longevity
