Job Description

This would be an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified apprentice or a Level 2 Technician looking to progress their career. This opportunity will include carrying out all levels of service related work, including basic servicing and general repairs on quality used cars ranging from family to high-end prestige vehicles.The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing and maintaining vehicles to a good quality standard as specified by the manufacturers or warranty requirements. You must also be capable of completing work to a high standard, whilst adhering to procedures and processes at all times. You will also be a team player with excellent attention to detail.   • Identifying faulty components which require replacing and ensure underlying problems are resolved.
  • Informing the Aftersales Manager on any issues arising and suggest a course of action.
  • Ensuring all work stations and preparation areas are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Advising on best methods of repair in consultation with the Service Manager.
  • Ensuring the efficient and effective use of workshop facilities and equipment.
  • Carrying out servicing and general repairs such as: brakes, suspension etc.
  • Communicating with internal teams and departments where necessary.
  • Advising the service team of issues and when tasks are completed.
  • Ensuring daily, weekly, monthly service and repair targets are met.
  • Working to deadlines to ensure that work is completed on time.
  • Identifying parts required and advising the Aftersales Manager.
  • Stripping, fitting and replacing components on vehicles.
  • Repairing vehicle faults as requested by the customer.
  • Providing repairs to a wide variety of vehicles.
  • Undertaking a full range of workshop duties.
  • Carrying out Vehicle Health Checks.
  • Carrying out basic diagnostics.
  • Essential Skills, Qualifications & Behaviours
  • Previous: Auto Mechanic, Service Technician, Vehicle Technician, or MOT Testing experience.
  • Customer facing with the ability to communicate issues effectively.
  • High attention to detail and quality of work.
  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 (or equivalent).
  • Desirable Skills & Qualifications
  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) highly desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  • Current MOT licence highly desirable.
