Job Description

Senior Test Consultant Hybrid/Birmingham Senior Test Consultant required to work within various teams across a wide range of project settings. They will be part of projects of varying sizes, and must, always promote consistency across project teams and prioritise their focus on delivering qualitysoftware. Ability to work independently and understand how a standard Dynamics 365 project cycle works and can use DevOps tasks / user stories / sprints to manage workload.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• You will be working within a team of functional (and technical) consultants ensuring smooth delivery and a unified approach.
• As a Senior Test Consultant has gained multiple years experience as a Test Consultant before this level then the Senior Test Consultant will be expected to work independently and demonstrate work to excellent standards.
• As a Senior Test Consultant has gained multiple years experience as a Test Consultant before this level then the Senior Test Consultant will be expected to be thorough and punctual in their reporting as required in the Test Practice.
• As a Senior Test Consultant has gained multiple years experience as a Test Consultant before this level then the Senior Test Consultant will be expected to be able to report to project stakeholders on their work independently.
• As a Senior Test Consultant has gained multiple years experience as a Test Consultant before this level then the Senior Test Consultant will be expected to be set examples to other members of the Crimson Test Practice in terms of work quality, their reporting,and project communication. They should also be able to explain and quality check these areas of work to other members of the companys Test Practice.
• As a Senior Test Consultant, you will be participating in every aspect of the solution implementation from: workshops and analysing the customers requirements; to creating test scripts, executing test scripts, raising bugs and retesting until resolution;progress reporting in stand-ups to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with senior / lead consultants along with stakeholders throughout the customer organisation to ensure a comprehensive set of requirements, aligned to business objectives, gaining a good understanding of current business processes.
• Independently create company standard documentation, including the analysis of business requirements which express what actions a solution must take and what outcome is expected, and also the creation of a project Test Plan. To identify and raise problemswith customer requirements at an early stage to stakeholders to ensure these do not cause later problems in project delivery.

Technical Skills:

• Able to independently work to the specified Test Practice Processes and Standards and sets excellent standards of work in all core areas of software testing: test case design; test scripting; bug reporting; progress reporting.
• DevOps - Understands how a standard Dynamics 365 project cycle works and can use DevOps tasks / user stories / sprints to manage their workload. Can recognise if potential problems will exist in advance.
• DevOps - Understands how DevOps can be used beyond their own role for tracking work and reporting information to project stakeholders. Can setup DevOps to a customers requirement for any given project.
• Has passed the ISTQB Fundamentals exam. Advantageous to have additional ISTQB or other professional certifications.
• Can independently create a Project Test Plan using the Crimson Test Practice template.
• Can analyse customer requirements and identify omissions, errors and inconsistencies. Can raise sub-standard requirements to stakeholders toward resolution.
• Can create test scripts in Azure DevOps to excellent levels as specified by the Crimson Test Practice Standards. These scripts will be used to create an overall DevOps Test Plan.
• Can execute test scripts and record results in Azure DevOps in real time.
• Can raise bugs in Azure DevOps to specified Crimson Test Practice Standards.
• Responsible for tracking their own raised bugs in DevOps and ensuring they are retested to successful resolution.
• Aware of other project bugs and how this will impact their work.
• Report project progress daily to stakeholders and participate in daily project stand-ups. Aware if progress or issues from more junior project members have missed any details to be reported.
• Can support customer UAT queries and monitor the quality of UAT raised bugs. Also aware of UAT quality and can raise any concerns in advance of potential disruption to timescales.
• Able to test above points across multiple technology (D365, canvas app or web-based) projects.
• Understands the differences between different test types and when these types of testing would be relevant to a customers requirements.
• Understands project risks and can advise in advance to prevent potential quality problems.
