Job Description

We are a specialist NHS trust supporting Blood Donation across England and Organ Donation and Transplantation across the United Kingdom. We have sites located across the country and have over 5,000 staff dedicated to the cause of helping and saving lives.IT plays a critical role in supporting the business and it’s a rare and fantastic opportunity that as an IT professional you can work on projects which directly impact peoples lives and welfare.You could be just the person we are looking for; a Senior Systems Test Engineer with experience of application testing, primarily focusing on automation testing. You will have experience of automation testing and the ability to produce automation scripts and automation test frameworks.You will have experience of the full Software Development Life Cycle, ideally using both Waterfall and Agile approaches. Experience of test management is highly desirable, and you will ideally hold the ISEB Foundation certificate or higher. Experience in some standard test automation tool for a period of at least 2 years will be needed.You will be working with:

  • Automation Tools like Test Complete, Selenium web driver experience desirable Jira
  • BDD Gherkin
  • Test Rail
  • REST and SOAP APis and web services
  • Web and Windows based applications
  • Experience working with Delphi 7 and/or C# would be beneficial
  • Training as appropriate will be provided.
    • The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following;
  • Helping to shape the Test Automation Strategy
  • Preparing Test Approaches/Test Plans
  • Authoring and execution of test scripts derived from reviewed and approved manual scripts.
  • Work with and mentor Systems Test Engineers to aid their development
  • Follow the extant Software Development Life Cycle, System Testing and Quality Assurance processes and Standards.
  • Participate in test planning and management and daily team stand up meeting
  • Defect management aligned to the DM Strategy
  • Identify and recommend ongoing improvements to the quality assurance process.
