SENIOR SYSTEMS SAFETY MANAGER REQUIRED FOR A JAN 2021 START! BASED IN BIRMINGHAM UP TO £82780 (INCLUDING 20% FLEX FUNDS) + EXCELLENT BENEFITSMy client is a well known national organisation and due to an expansion within the team they are now looking to recruit a Senior Systems Safety Manager on a permanent basis. This is a pivotal role for the project and is responsible for safety assessments and safe implementation in to the infrastructure, this includes rolling stock and/or supervising the Notified Body (NoBo) compliance for key systems. The ideal candidate would come from Rail, Aviation or Military applications with a chartered Engineering background with an understanding of common safety methods (CSM). [ The role ] - Leading risk assessments for specific discipline areas, being able to self sufficiently plan, run and write up risk workshops- Develop reports and be able to justify and explain results within the organisation- Responsible for supporting the organisation to ensure compliance with the Railways Regulation and the Common Safety Method regulation on Risk Assessment and evaluation for the project- Supporting the future operators compliance with the railways and other guided transport systems (safety) regulations- The delivery of the project wide hazard record, analysing hazards and compliance evidence- Manage an interface to the AsBo/NoBo supporting the overall demonstration of compliance for the railway- Developing and managing task instructions issued to the AsBo/NoBo and to develop material to support interoperability demonstration of the railway- Specify scope of work and tasks to be delivered under the system safety support contract- Provide technical support and leadership on discipline specific scientific, technical and engineering principles to project development/delivery teams and know when to seek further guidance from subject matter experts- Provide technical, commercial management and leadership skills to support project development/delivery teams working under - Apply principles relating to standards, safety and the environment [ Person and skills required ]- Experience in managing multi-discipline engineering and safety standards, activity on large complex major projects /programmes within a complex infrastructure delivery programme- Experience of delivering evidence of system safety design within a safety critical environment (Aviation, Rail, Maritime, Oil/Gas, Nuclear or Military applications)- Interfacing with key government departments and regulators- Operating within a regulatory environment- Management of multiple stakeholders both internal and external- Experience of managing a competing project and engineering demands, with cost and schedule implications on any engineering projects/programmes- Common Safety Methods (CSM) for risk evaluation and assessment experience would be desirable- Chartered Engineer/Membership of an appropriate professional institution of equivalent experience If you believe you have the experience/skills for this excellent opportunity please apply ASAP!
