Job Description

Your new roleAs a Senior Service Designer & Transition Manager youll be working closely with key stakeholders, across the organisation, to understand and articulate impacts to Service Operational teams, use design thinking to develop and produce appropriate servicedesign packages and govern IT Transition activities, for new and updated services & solutions, into production environments.What youll be leading on

  • Lead on the Development and provision of Service Design Packages which may include varying mixes of internal & supplier support and service management capabilities, to fit service requirements and ensure alignment to the National Highways IT strategies
  • Integrate and deliver Service Design & Transition activities and outcomes across diverse delivery frameworks, such as Waterfall, Agile & DevOps
  • Understand and support the development of strategies and policies, providing guidance to others.
  • Evaluate current strategies to ensure service designs are linked to the wider business and IT strategies agenda.
  • Provide clear, relevant communications to business stakeholders, staff, IT senior management and suppliers whilst leading, motivating, and coaching team members in line with company policies and ensure all operational activities are performed accordingto correct procedures.
To be successful
  • Able to work confidently individually, or as part of a team
  • Formal service design training/qualification essential e.g., ITIL V3/V4 practitioner or specialist in Service Design and Service Transition modules or equivalent.
  • Able to understand and practice Service Architecture methodology: UX & CX design, User Interviews - Personas - User journeys - Empathy Map - Service Blueprint - Storyboards -Storytelling.
  • Minimum 5 years previous experience of Service Design is essential
  • Proven Service design & Service Transition experience within a large enterprise IT environment covering end to end operational processes & related systems (ITIL).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to influence others at all levels of the business
