Job Description

Senior Quality Engineer Competitive Salary, Plus BenefitsLocation: West MidlandsQuality, Leadership, Systems, Assurance, Manufacturing, Project, NPI, Launch, IATF16949, AS9100, ISO2015,QMS,QCD,CIOur client a forward thinking and growing Automotive organisation with a track record of delivering world class products and systems for advanced technology and performance are currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer, who can think strategically, drivequality, implement procedures, support NPI and create a quality culture through effective management.The role as Senior Quality Engineer will be to support both product and process quality functions leading new product introduction and launch, influencing cross functional teams while driving forward quality management systems, implement effective processesand procedures that will positively impact all areas of the business. A hands-on approach and can-do attitude are essential, as is the ability to challenge mainstream thinking in a constructive and energetic way.As Senior Quality Engineer your main responsibilities will be to;

  • Contribute to new business initiatives supporting the development and implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Support and drive forward corporate objectives and goals to deliver best practice results and continuous improvements
  • Lead new product introduction supporting APQP and PPAP activities during all launch phases
  • Ensure that all in-house Quality Management System processes are implemented, updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies
  • Update quality documentation and communicate lessons learned from quality concerns
  • Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits
  • Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
  • Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures
  • Undertake regular system and process audits of the QMS
  • Verify closure of non-conformities with Certification Bodies
  • Manage customer nonconformity data base and provide detailed analysis of nonconformities
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System (IATF16949/ISO9001)
  • Develop, implement and manage key Quality performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers and suppliers
  • Support the development of supplier selection / approval / continuous assessment and performance management (KPIs) with the materials management team.
  • Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the Company, in relation to Quality matters
  • Oversee the management ofCustomer and Supplier visits and audits. Create audit / visit reports with recommendations as part of the overall supplier approval process for identifying new suppliers.
  • Work as part of Strip Tinnings Quality Team to improve operations, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities to improve quality standards of parts and products.
  • Stay up to date with quality standards and technological innovations in quality
  • Any other tasks that are reasonably assigned to you by your line manager, including development activities, which are within your capability and grade.
This is a challenging and exciting role and as such we are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate that they have the following:
  • Previously led and delivered new products and launch components within an automotive and/ormotorsportrelated environment (IATF16949/ISO9001:2015)
  • An in depth and proven knowledge ofQMS,QA,APQP,PPAP,NPI, PPM andCI.
  • Must be capable of leading and managing new product and process quality activities especially within a batch/medium volume manufacturing arena.
  • Knowledge ofPFMEA,DFMEA,FMEA, Process Control Plans, Process Maps,etc.
  • The desire, drive and the character to achieve Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) are essential personal requirements, allied with excellent leadership and motivational skills to succeed
  • Ability to resolve problems quickly and effectively while facing off to suppliers and customers to deliver results against stringent timing plans and quality standards
