Job Description

Senior Project Manager - Implementation/Software - Birmingham/RemoteSenior Project Manager required for a leading Microsoft Gold Partner in Birmingham. You will be required to lead large scale software development and software support initiatives and aim to exceed the expectations of the customer whilstensuring a consistently good performance against project baselines.The role is mainly remote, with expectation to attend the client site when required. Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Safeguard all service level agreements established with the customer by ensuring all change implemented into the production environments receives the appropriate level of testing and planning.
  • Strong experience of managing 3rd party relationships, communication and deliverables relative to the project.
  • Ability to work closely with the business and provide a clean well documented handover after implementation, and to provide support to the business post implementation.
  • Ensure post project reviews takes place to improve future implementations.
  • Monitor the quality of all work undertaken by the project teams under your control and schedule resource to achieve the optimal balance between risk, benefit, time and money.
  • Ability to track delivery against the estimating matrix and analyse any variances with a view to refining the accuracy of the matrix or recommended process or working practice changes to the management team to help remove redundant or over-engineered processes.
  • Monitor and keep up to date with industry best practice, standards, and certifications with regard to the adoption of application development processes, tools and quality metrics.
Key Skills of the Role:
  • Extensive knowledge of the approach and standards required to implement a customer service led culture in an IT based development environment.
  • Strong experience working with internal and external resource and suppliers
  • Ability to create user stories, tasks and bugs in without supervision and maintain statuses in collaboration with project teams
  • Understands the concept of DevOps burndown charts and can articulate sprint progress to project teams and client stakeholders
  • Proven experience of managing the development, test and implementation issues that surround moderately complex application dependencies in an e-commerce and retail home shopping environment.
  • Good financial management skills:
    • Experience of managing project or cost centre budgets
    • Understands different pricing models and their impact on project delivery.
    • Ability to execute month end activities including raising accruals, creating invoices and updating the monthly control sheet without support from PMO colleagues.
  • Ability to perform high level business and systems analysis to enable shaping and scoping and effective change management of projects
  • Previous management, supervisory and leadership experience.
  • Clear experience of managing outcomes to agreed quality, time and cost targets.
  • Able to review Technical and Functional documentation and provide feedback to project team members on format, structure, and thoroughness.
