We are looking for a motivated Band 6 Senior Practitioner in Autism and Learning Disabilities to join our specialist and innovative DICE team working across the Birmingham area. The DICE (Disability Intensive Support Enhanced) team supports complex young people with a diagnosis of autism and/or a learning disability who are currently in crisis. The team works alongside the Learning Disability team and CAMHS Urgent Care team to offer specific support to minimise the likelihood of unnecessary inpatient hospital admissions. The successful candidate will work in clinical, community and home based treatment settings providing mental health, learning disability and autistic spectrum specific support for young people, their families and their carers. We require a qualified nurse (RMN, RNLD or Paediatric) who has good knowledge around ASC to offer community and home based interventions such as safety assessing and positive behaviour support planning to support the young person, their family and the wider community team.We would like an individual with extensive post registration experience. However, we would consider recruiting at band 5 and supporting through a robust development and supervision plan. The DICE team originated as a pilot project but following positive evaluation the funding is now recurrent. We are a small friendly team hoping to build on this success by expanding on our permanent staffing should new posts continue to bring additional success. To meet the needs of the individuals your work pattern may include very occasional evening and weekend working. You will be required to have a valid driving license and use of a car. This advert closes on 2nd March and interviews will be held on 16th March.
