The Senior Network Engineer will ensure the provision of a high performance, secure, fault tolerant network and systems infrastructure to Sigma’s users and client base; to work with IT Department colleagues and other Sigma staff on the development and revision of the IT strategy; to strive to be seen as a lead within the IT team to take the entire network infrastructure on to the best possible operational standards.The post-holder has accountability to ensure that all network components and configurations are performing as designed, are available, secure and well documented.Hands-on configuration of Cisco switches/routers, ASA firewalls and Palo Alto firewalls and occasionally Microsoft servers & Linux server platforms, along with a growing Cloud infrastructure. Accurate maintenance of Service Desk and Change logs while carrying out such work so that colleagues in the team are aware of work that may impact their own and that there is an audit trail in the event of system failures. Configuration work to include patching, upgrades and HW/SW installations as required.Senior Network Engineer Responsibilities:
