Our client based in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their well established team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer looking to get involved in a mix of BAU and project work.* Design, configure, and deploy scalable and reliable network solutions that align with the companys objectives.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network requirements and provide technical insights for business-critical projects.* Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues to maintain optimal network health.* Implement and enforce security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls, to safeguard the network from threats and breaches.* Support network hardware and software upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.* Participate in network capacity planning and optimization to meet the demands of a growing organisation.* Act as an escalation point for complex network incidents, providing timely and effective troubleshooting and resolution.* Document network configurations, processes, and best practices to enhance knowledge sharing and maintain an organised network environment.* Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to enhance network performance and efficiency.Qualifications and Experience:* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.* Proven work experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar networking role.* Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security principles.* Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco, Juniper, or similar network devices.* Experience with firewall technologies, VPNs, and network monitoring tools.* Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, WLAN, MPLS, and other network technologies.* Familiarity with cloud networking solutions ideally Azure. * Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc.) will be advantageous.What will you get* Annual salary of up to £60,000 per annum + bonus* Support with maintaining certifications and obtaining new* Great Pension* Hybrid Working* Flexible hours If you feel you match the above click apply now with an up to date version of your CV.
