Job Description

Role: Senior Front-End Developer - ReactSalary: £45k - £55kLocation: Birmingham, West MidlandsCX Squared are the exclusive talent partner to a hospitality digital and fully-digital marketing led agency who are dominating the restaurant space with their technology projects and in-house innovation.The business that has rocketed in the last 3 years and you will get the chance to drive the React projects for the business, who are utilizing WordPress and GatsbyJS.You will be focused on the web builds and managing and maintaining WordPress, the Gutenberg editor, WP blocks, and Gatsby updates.We are looking for someone who has a preference working with React and Gatsby as these guys have several exciting projects, and all the new builds use this.Responsibilities:

  • Developing new user-facing features using React.js and Gatsby
  • Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
  • Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
  • Optimising components for maximum performance across a vast array of web capable devices and browsers
  • Creating, installing, and maintaining WP sites as a headless CMS
  • Integrating WordPress and Gatsby with other systems, such as Shopify Skills
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  • Thorough understanding of WordPress is desirable
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL
  • Thorough knowledge of SCSS or similar
  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  • Familiarity with build pipelines and tools such as Github Actions, Docker
  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Experience creating and maintaining component libraries and working closely with design teams
  • Familiarity with the WordPress API and GraphQL plugins
  • Experience with Gatsby creating static sites
Essential Skills:
  • Passion for front-end development
  • Used React.JS - or similar frameworks including Vue.JS or Angular
  • Coding examples that can be shown via GitHub.
  • Communicator
  • Curious and desire to continued learning.
  • Worked with WordPress / PHP (desirable)
