Job Description

Marks Sattin is working with a leading Manufacturing Business to recruit an Operations Senior Financial Controller to join their Birmingham team - Hybrid WorkingDuties:

  • As a member of the FICO management committee supports the UK MD and CFO, keeping an independent position to give a fair view on business, trends and forecasts facilitating business decisions; working in close relation with the CFO.
  • Challenge the managers within the business; deliver required financial guidance to the business by performing cost variance analysis, analysing results and proactively suggesting corrective actions; Ensure robust cost control.
  • Coordinate strategic objective setting and provide analytical information by developing a deep understanding of the business results and markets within which the business operates; quantify the impact of action plans and validate business assumptions againsthistorical experience & target.
  • Manage and drive the investment decision and authorization process (evaluation, selection of the investment opportunities, profitability and growth objectives); Deliver the required financial guidance on business projects.
  • Manage and own the management reporting, analysis, and commentary to the Group.
  • Manage the full Target and reforecast process and contribute to the development of strategic planning and initiatives to improve the performance of the business while minimizing risks.
  • Manage the Operations Control team; supervise and motivate team members, set individual objectives, appraise performances and provide feedback for continuous professional development.
  • Partner with relevant SLT members for a deep understanding of key business performance drivers.
  • Provide a timely and complete monthly closing in collaboration with operational teams and accounting department and support the CFO in the analysis of the monthly closing (difference between the forecast and actual figures).
About you:
  • Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Strong data analytics, experience using Power BI and reporting tools, advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP and International Reporting Standards
  • Strong Financial Background with experience working in a fast-paced environment.
