Job Description

Senior Estimator - Refurbishment/ fit out and external works£45,000 - £60,000 (Depending on experience, Package Negotiable)BirminghamAbout the companyMy Client have been trading for over 30 years and are well-established; nationwide; industry leading supplier of property management solutions. Due to recent business growth my client is looking for an experienced estimator, who has around 10 years of UKbased experience. The successful candidate needs to have experience working on small works projects such as refurbishment/ fit out/fabric and external works.Duties:Daily tasks will change depending on the day and the project but can consist of:

  • Producing accurate estimations in the agreed time frame
  • Working in line with contractual arrangements.
  • Fully participate in the management of all incoming enquiries.
  • Ability to prepare accurate cost estimates for the indirect resources required to carry out works in accordance with programme.
  • Reading and understanding architects/ consultants drawings to assess the scope of works
  • Determining structural steel and architectural metal work requirements for the project / managing the expectations of the customers
  • Doing full estimates / quotations and responding to tenders with project pricing
  • Obtaining quotations for any works that need to be subcontracted
  • Responsible for all changes and variations to pricing prior to contract award
  • Monitoring of variations to original price with contracts and production managers
  • Liaison with clients / directors/ contracts managers/ projects managers in weekly meetings
  • Preparing material take offs and quantity surveying duties for awarded projects
Requirements:
  • Estimating experience.
  • Experience within small works projects such as refurbishment/ fit out/fabric and external works.
  • Full UK driving license is required.
  • Strong planning, organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word.
