Job Description

We are currently looking for multiple Senior Cost Controllers to support the Balfour Beatty Vinci, HS2 joint venture in BirminghamThis is a significant role in establishing Project Budget and monthly Cost Reports by running systems for collecting, analysing, verifying, and reporting financial performance.What youll be doing:As Senior Cost Controller youll be supported by the Junior Cost Controller and Cost Controller. Your main purpose of your role will be to ensure the preparation of project budgets are accurate and successful.Other responsibilities include but are not limited too:

  • Preparation of sublots budget with site management
  • Ensure adequate coding of all recorded expenses
  • On a weekly basis review labour and plant reports
  • On a monthly basis:
  • Collect main quantities and work site progress from other departments (QS, Design and Construction) and generates earned value
  • Ensure with Financial Department all costs and accruals are recorded during the month closing,
  • Participates to the monthly cost report issuance with the preparation of the Cost Value Reconciliation Report (CVR)
  • Conduct examinations between earned value and planned value
  • Prepares end of site trend/Rolling Forecast
  • Maintain monitoring systems for all cost indicators, targets and standards Management & Performances requested,
  • Prepare Ad hoc examination of costs, scenarios, efficiencies, if & when requested
  • Alert management on budget variations and proposes improvement axis & actions plans to prevent recurring variations
    • Who were looking for:We are looking for motivated, energetic dedicated Senior Cost Controllers who have excellent knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ideally have some experience within the contracting/projects industry
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • You will have experience of both developing and leading high performing teams, with a willingness to embrace and drive best practice
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to command respect at all levels of the organisation is key
    • Please note the role may require some travel, but you will be predominately based in the site office. We have sites across the Birmingham/West Midlands area, locations will be confirmed at interview. If successful you could be based at Brindley Place, Cappers Lane, M6 North, IM Building or other.About BBVBalfour Beatty VINCI is responsible for designing and building part of the most exciting and challenging railway project in Europe: HS2.We are building the West Midlands section of HS2’s Phase One route, spanning approximately 90km from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.   • 42 viaducts totaling over 11km, 66 over-bridges;
  • More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km;

  • Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures and six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and over-bridge structures.
