Job Description

***Senior Contracts Manager required in London, Manchester, Birmingham**Duration- Permanent with 30 days annual leave including BH. Hybrid working 3 days a week on site, and occasional travel to other offices when required.Working hours/shift pattern: Monday to Friday 9-5 (Standard office hours)Salary circa £60-65,000 My client is a train operating company in the United Kingdom owned by FirstGroup and TrenitaliaPurpose of the role:

  • Role supports head of procurement in business development of the contract management approach, creating framework (policies processes and tools used) and launch the framework throughout the business and support the launch and moving forwards.
  • Start of the role will involve a strong level of consultancy to build a map of how the businesses contract management currently operates and how they can improve on that.
  • Responsible for supporting the Head of Procurement principally in the development of a business wide best practice approach to Contract Management including all facets of that capability namely policy, process, people, and tools and seek to embed this viakey stakeholders across the business.
  • This role will be the capability owner within the business and is a strategic development role driving improvement in how contract management is done.
  • As there are some contracts which span the whole business this role provides central ownership and accountability for those contracts to drive performance in line with the requirements of the contract, to ensure compliance and to seek continuous improvementand cost effectiveness through the life of the contracts.
Main Responsibilities
  • Overall accountability for the creation and deployment of contract management capability
  • Baseline current approach to contract management and complete gap analysis working with stakeholder groups.
  • Design market leading capability for contract management within and across the business - policy, processes, tools, templates, and people
  • Deliver presentations and engagement campaigns across the business and become the subject matter expert (SME) delivering best practice workshops.
  • Align contract management capability to the development of supplier relationship management approach.
  • Manage selected suppliers and contracts as per agreed supplier relationship management segmentation to ensure they deliver throughout the life of the contract and in line with the as designed contract management capability - measure & monitor, review, changemanagement, performance reporting.
  • Potentially 2 direct reports.
