They are leading on much of the government’s work to protect the public such as flood defence, enhancing science capability, improvement of the environment and aiding in a successful transition from the EU.Defra group Commercial have also been instrumental and helping the Government to respond to COVID by setting up contracts for "foodboxes" for the vulnerable.You will have the opportunity to contribute towards and influence the development of new approaches and policies on a wide range of issues affecting millions of people in the UK.Flood defences are a key and high-profile area of spend area with the Government recently announcing a significantly increased £5.2bn funding settlement over the next 6 years.The Technology category works on over 300 contracts with a value of £2.8billion. The technology category has an annual spend of £220 million.The category is set up under 4 teams, Service Infrastructure, Service Operations, Business Applications and Planning.The Business Applications team commercially support the 2200 applications of various sizes, complexity and cost that are utilised across the Defra Group.What You Will Be Doing:
