Job overviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst & Systems Developer/Architect to lead the day-to-day maintenance and ongoing development of our cloud hosted Public Health database portal (known as DCRS).The DCRS platform is utilised hands-on by a range of NHS, Council, Private, Charity & Social Enterprise organisations. These services provide direct intervention services commissioned to address individuals with acute public health needs. Having been operationalfor over 15 years, in supporting DCRS you will be expected to gradually take up the lead role in supporting a broad array of both old and new development and database technologies. Besides helping support the Azure setup, you willneed extensive full-stack developer experience. A large VB.net web-form application (with JSON, XML, Jquery, Javscript and 3rd party components), C# applications, API services, SSIS / SSRS, SQL Administration and Development (TSQL & XML), plus windows services(handing SMS & email sending/retrieval).Operationally you will gradually take on day-to-day responsibilities to maintain processes and support senior customer requests. You will also provide managerial cover for the service lead, who will in turn provide technical cover for you. All spare time thereafteris then given to strategic development work, mentoring our graduate apprentice and the continual improvement platform!There is a very limited managerial commitment beyond the above, you will lead most meetings you attend and can work largely autonomously, both remotely and flexibly as you required in agreement with the team lead and within the one caveat that our customerneeds are always continually catered for first and foremost.Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesEnsure that the latest techniques and best practices are researched and implemented to keep the team on the leading edge of development.Play the lead role in designing and producing high-quality applications, sound solution architecture to support the business processes of both internal and external customers of the CSU.Work in tandem with the service lead to develop and maintain the development and maintenance of the DCRS platform and its various applications. Collaboratively support the work of all members of the development team, as required, to ensure that developmentsremain cohesive and on track.Work within the constraints of a project management environment.Take a lead in developing and maintaining processes for applications development that encompasses all stages of the development process including; requirements gathering, managing relationships with customers, ensuring requirements are agreed and delivery istracked to manage and satisfy customer expectations, assist in the preparation and documentation of application requirements and specifications, plan phases of the application development life cycle.Undertake scrum activities and work support the agile development methodology.
