Lead Wintel Engineer RemoteSALARY: £60-65KWORKING HOURS: 9.00 - 17.00SC, UK nationalCurrent/ previous SC cleared applicants suitable. If you have a long notice period and are eligible to go through clearance you will also be suitable* Developing detailed solutions, documenting low level designs to enable the implementation of these solutions based on high level designs created by the architecture team. * Providing technical leadership to engineers during implementation including hands on supportDETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION:Part of an infrastructure design and implementation team shaping and effecting significant infrastructure change and project delivery, creating detailed low-level designs and providing technical leadership and hands on support during implementation of thesedesigns. Works with multi-disciplinary groups. The teams tend to be account aligned and the volume of change is determined by the level of client demand, projects will typically run over weeks or months depending on complexity and scale of the change.Developing detailed solutions, documenting low level designs to enable the implementation of these solutions based on high level designs created by the architecture team. Providing technical leadership to engineers during implementation including hands on support Stakeholders are internal, and external and may include client technical representatives and client business representatives.Some travel may be required on an ad-hoc basis, but predominantly will be home based.ESSENTIALS SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:Providing technical leadership and expertise to engineering teams supporting a blue-chip client including hands on implementation of complex designs.The ability to create low level designs and provide leadership and hands on support in the implementation and any issues encounteredExtensive technical infrastructure background with deep knowledge of Wintel technologies and virtualization.Extensive experience in the design and implementation of infrastructure and systems* Strong leadership skills* Extensive technical infrastructure skills with deep knowledge of Wintel technologies and virtualization* Ability to produce an effective low-level design from high level designs created by Architects* Ability to deliver implementation of low-level designs providing guidance to wider engineering team * Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams in implementation of designs* Ability to lead the low-level design development, deployment, and technical quality of medium to large business unit level IT based solutions within Wintel technology areas).* Be able to provide low level design input into multiple medium sized projects concurrently. For larger engagements, a single active project is reasonable.* Can validate/evaluate if an information systems or operational architecture meets technical requirements and specifications.* Ideally aware of architectural, development and operational methodologies (e.g., Zachman, TOGAF, ITSM, ...).* Applies appropriate methodologies and SME knowledge to resolve complex business issues.* Broad knowledge of infrastructure technologies* Deep IT industry knowledge in specific areas.* Deep knowledge of IT and business standards and best practices pertaining to Wintel related technologies and how to apply them appropriately in solutions.* Industry experience - 5 years to 10 yearsExpert or Master level of knowledge of in Wintel and associated infrastructure and virtualization technologiesDESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:* Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience* Relevant technical certifications or equivalent abilityIf you have the skillset required.
