SAS Consultant6 months contractRemote/ Some travel to either Sheffield, London or BirminghamPurpose Global WPB Retail Credit Risk manages Credit Risk associated with Retail lending products (Mortgages, Credit Cards, Loans and Overdrafts) for all countries HSBC operates in. The function is supported by several hundred analytics professionals engaged inreporting, modelling and data manipulation. As a result, there are significant challenges to the effective management of data within the function requiring close cooperation with partners in WPB and Finance.The Retail Credit Risk (RCR) Data Team is seeking a SAS consultant to support delivery of Data and Analytics projects at Global and Regional levels. Regional Data and Analytics Platforms are being implemented in Big data Hadoop and Google Cloud platform toservice risk analytics users. A regional consistent data component referred to as Retail Data Model (RDM) will become the golden data source for risk analytics use cases such as Basel Model development, model execution, model monitoring, decision modelling,IFRS9, local and group MI reporting. The successful candidate will form an integral part of the RCR Data and Analytics Change team and will be actively involved in the definition of business requirements, working with business users in validation and consumptionof data from RDM and servicing Analytics Use Cases. There is also a key requirement to ensure compliance against regulatory driven data requirements including BCBS 239 and the Data Management FIM. The successful candidate will be expected to exercise independentinitiative in proactively overcoming obstacles to success, dealing with uncertainty and changing circumstances, project interdependencies, opportunities and risks.Skills
