Job Description

Salary: Competitive plus strong benefits About the RoleOur client is a fully independent bank who offer an alternative ethos centred around positive social impact. Due to continued growth they have a brand-new role for an experienced Relationship Director with a background in Commercial Lending.The role will be home based with flexibility and the ability to work autonomously.As the Relationship Director - Commercial Lending, you will act as an ambassador for the Bank in the external community by establishing, maintaining and most importantly growing relationships with key sector organisations and professionalintermediaries to support achievement of the Banks business objectives.As the Relationship Director - Commercial Lending your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Own the Banks external and intermediary profile in your Region and specialised Sector nationally
  • Business development activity through intermediary development and direct target market prospect approaches
  • Relationship Management and credit stewardship of customer portfolio
  • Drive pipeline activity and conversion to grow the lending, deposits and income streams
About YouEssential Skills and Competencies of the Relationship Director - Commercial Banking role:
  • 3-5 years in a similar role as a senior RM / BDM focused on the SME segment with debt £1-10m
  • Proven business developer thats restless in pursuit of business objectives
  • Strong appreciation for key account management / portfolio development
  • Proven credit and deal structuring skills- able to write concise and well-reasoned applications and prudently control lending book
  • ACIB Qualified
Desirable Skills & Competencies of the Relationship Director - Commercial Banking role:
  • Experience as sector specialist, ideally well known in at least one of the following market segments - Social Enterprises, Charities, Churches Social Housing, Healthcare, Education
  • Developing SME deposits
  • Team leadership/ performance management experience
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build relationships both internally and externally through investing time in understanding our business
  • Project management experience
