Job Description

Pertemps Work Based Learning are excited to be working with a growing Multi Award winning Education Technology company (EdTech) who supply software to schools that support reading and literacy work.Due to this growth, there are opportunities for three talented, enthusiastic, and ambitiousRegional Business Development Managers based at each of these locations in England: North of England, The Midlands and South of England.Having won the Scottish Digital Business Award for Education and Training in 2018, they are working with the best in the industry, involving Governments, Local Authorities, and hundreds of Schools throughout the UK. This client is at the forefront of the EdTechsector. The businesss main product is a web-based platform delivering world class literacy and language resources designed to engage learners, support educators, and involve parents.The package available for the position of Regional Business Development Manager:

  • Basic salary of £30000 - £38000 (including car allowance).
  • Uncapped commission structure (realistic expectations of £12000 OTE).
  • 20 days paid holiday plus public holidays, a Christmas shutdown and 2 days per year for volunteering in your community.

The role of Regional Business Development Manager:
  • Building a cold territory from the ground up so requires a hungry and tenacious/ambitious salesperson/account manager with experience of cold calling, networking, social media, etc.
  • This is a field based account management role where youll be on the road approximately 2 days a week out seeing schools and the rest of the time youll be doing meetings online and working from home.
  • Attend meetings at Head Office near Glasgow as required (generally every few months).
  • Offer a consultative sales process with a longer sales cycle where softer skills will be required.
  • This role will be responsible for selling their products to individual schools (7080 a year each role) or via group buying with local authorities or trusts.
  • You will join an existing and growing Sales and Business Development team, support the senior leadership, content, and technology teams.
  • You will be responsible for your own set of targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. There is also an expectation that you will have a good knowledge of the EdTech marketplace.
Skills, qualifications and experience required for the position of Regional Business Development Manager:
  • Strong experience of business development and sales with clear evidence of an ability to develop new business whilst demonstrating commercial acumen.
  • Evidence of building up effective working relationships with our current clients, while seeking new opportunities in a competitive marketplace via cold calling, marketing, networking, etc.
  • It would be hugely beneficial if you are educated to degree level, have experience within education as a teacher or as part of the executive management team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • A keen eye for detail and a fantastic talent for customer service.
  • A full drivers licence is essential for this position.
