Position: Quality Inspector. Full-Time, Permanent roleHours: Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4:00pm, Friday 7.30am - 1.30pm. 38-hour working week with opportunities for overtimeLocation: Nechells, BirminghamSalary: £9.00 - £9.50 per hour (dependent upon experience)Holidays: 20 Days Holiday per annum + Bank Holidays, Pension Scheme, on-site secure free car parkingJob DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesGoods inwards- Checking delivery notes with purchase orders- Inspecting goods on receipt- Booking in components on computer system- Printing labels and labelling goods. (Identification) - Communicating with suppliers regarding quality issues- Tying up works orders with sub-con processes (plating/ machining)In process inspection- Works order endorsement- Check parts before dispatch to sub-contractors- Routine sample patrol inspection- Producing inspection reports using the Inspection armFirst article inspection (FAIR) - Dimensional checking of components- Verifying documentation to purchase orders- Checking components to works order- Visual fair - Entering information - Preparing first article reports for customer approvalFinal inspection - Inspecting goods before dispatch- Complete paperwork at final inspectionGeneral Responsibilities - Maintain a clean and safe working area to meet the requirements of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies- Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to, to ensure compliance with the accredited Integrated Management System - Wear PPE as required in accordance with Risk Assessments and written instructions - Practice and maintain 5S disciplines in accordance with quality standards- Ensure hazardous waste is disposed of in accordance with the company environmental policy- Undertake any other reasonable management request in line with the business needsBasic Requirements- All processes are carried out on a bespoke software package that the business operates (Progress Plus). Successful candidates must be computer literate- Willingness to participate in improvement activities across the business- Eye for detail and pride in manufacturing aesthetically pleasing products- Flexible to working hours as schedules dictateDesirable Qualities- Working with air tools (rivet gun, riv-nut gun, sanders etc)- NVQ Level 2 or above in manufacturing would be advantageous- Prior knowledge of Progress Plus system
