Job Description

Quality Inspector BSA Guns (UK) ltdCompetitive plus BenefitsLocation: BirminghamOur client is the subsidiary of a multi-million pound global company, based in the Midlands. Having been established for 160 years, the company has a worldwide reputation for quality, service and innovative design in the airgun market.An new opportunity has arisen for a Quality Inspector to work with Manufacturing, Supply chain and Design to approve or reject parts, from First-offs to Production, against quality standards including drawings and specifications. The rolewill report directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager, working with production, design engineering and suppliers. Your ability to produce accurate and consistent dimensional reports is key to the success of this role.Key Accountabilities:

  • Reading of drawings and specifications to understand the quality expectations for parts and materials.
  • Approve or reject parts and materials with respect to the quality standards and to record supplier performance.
  • Select samples for measurement or testing based on defined sample sizes and prior supplier performance in line with Control Plan.
  • Identification and control of non-compliant materials
  • To communicate non-compliance to relevant company departments such as Supply chain (purchasing), Quality, Design and Production, in a robust, timely and concise manner.
  • To generate Sample Inspection Reports to facilitate the approval of new parts.
What about you As a Quality Inspector, you will have:
  • Successfully completed a L3/4 Engineering Apprenticeship (typically Quality, Machinist or Technical Support Technician)
  • Proficient use of inspection equipment including verniers, micrometers, Slip gauges, Go-NoGo gauges and CMM
  • Worked in the role of Inspector for 3 years in Automotive, Aerospace or similar
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Excellent IT, written and oral communication skills
  • Worked effectively as a member of a team
