Job Description

Purchasing and Stock AdministratorOur client is the UK’s largest distributor to convenience retailers, based in the heart of Birmingham in a brand-new office on Bennetts Hill, minutes from transport links.As a dynamic and innovative business dedicated to delivering exceptional results, they are committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible and taking onexciting brands that make a real impact. We believe in fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values creativity, accountability and growth.Working with some of the world’s leading brands and categories of fast-moving goods such as Liquid Death and American Candy, they supply 10,000+ conveniencestores and major national retailers such as Morrison’s, Co-op, SPAR and more.Location: HYBRID between Birmingham City Centre (Head Offices) and Nearby Warehouse in AstonResponsibilities:1. Stock Level Management:

  • Analyse sales figures and lead times to create optimal stock level suggestions.
  • Develop strategies for efficient stock holding across both the head offices and warehouse.
2. Warehouse Operations:
  • Address and resolve stock-related queries in the warehouse.
  • Assist the team with administration duties related to stock management.
3. Data Management:
  • Maintain and update system data for accurate records.
  • Ensure general housekeeping of data to streamline operations.
4. Ordering and Procurement:
  • Support in the ordering process for stock replenishment.
  • Proactively identify changes in demand, potential shortages, and supply problems.
5. Problem Resolution:
  • Identify and resolve supply chain issues and supplier concerns promptly.
  • Communicate issues to relevant staff and escalate when necessary.
6. Operational Meetings:
  • Attend regular operational meetings to discuss stock levels, challenges, and provide solutions.
  • Be prepared to provide detailed insights into stock-related matters.
7. Stock Review and Discontinuation:
  • Review slow-moving stock and liaise with head office on items that can be discontinued or reduced.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working within a warehouse.
  • Proficient in general office and administration skills, with expertise in Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in dealing with face-to-face stock inquiries internally.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate with different departments.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and a desire to grow within a purchasing-based role.
Travel:The role requires spending 50% of the time at head offices in Birmingham City Centre and the remaining time at the nearby warehouse. Travel expenses/ Birmingham City Centre parking willbe covered.Salary £24,000-£26,000
