SF recruitment are working with a market leading manufacturer within its field, to recruit a purchasing manager. A multi-site operation in the UK with a global presenceReporting into a Head Of Procurement. The role oversees management responsibility of the centralised purchasing hub, strategy development across direct & indirect spend areas and an escalation point for the purchasing function.This role would suit a Senior Buyer with management calibre credentials or a purchasing manager looking to further develop their career.Responsibilities: Drive the development and implementation commodity strategies to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization.Oversee NPI & aftermarket sourcing activities within the team.Drive strategic supplier selection, supplier resourcing, cost down, total cost optimisation and supplier development through quality, process, and delivery improvements.Mentor & develop direct reports.Lead on preparing events such as lean, supplier summits.Setting objectives to team & providing weekly reporting/KPIS, establishing & maintaining measurable performance metrics. Hosting monthly/quarterly reviewsManages & develops savings initiatives in line with profit plan and overall business objectives.Skillset Requirements:Demonstrable strategic sourcing experienceUnderstanding of & drive for achieving best total cost acquisition within a manufacturing environment.Ability to mentor & lead staff at buyer level.
