Job Description

Project Manager - Civil Engineering Job Title: Project Manager - Highway StructuresIndustry Sector: Highways, Highway Structures, Civils, Temporary Works, Bridge Repairs, Concrete Testing, Concrete Surveys, Concrete Contractor, Specialist Contractor, Contracts Manager, Concrete, Building Contractor, Groundwork Contractor, Light Civils,NEC, EWN, CE, Civil EngineeringLocation: West MidlandsRemuneration: £50,000 - £70,000 Benefits: Car Allowance & Full Comprehensive Benefits PackageThe role of the Project Manager - Highway Structures will involve:

  • Project Manager position managing various highway projects from tender stage through to completion
  • Projects would include concrete testing/surveys, temporary works, hydro demolition, preparation works, concrete repairs, formwork, cathodic protection, civil engineering bridge works, barrier replacement, and bridge reconstruction
  • Ensuring that all works are carried out in a safe and efficient manor
  • Building and developing relationships with key highway clients
  • Supporting with the recruitment of staff to fulfil projects
  • Ensure timely handover of reports, measurements, programme changes and other relevant information to the commercial team
  • Conduct daily site briefings
  • Attend weekly meetings with internal and external stakeholders to update on progress
  • Make sure projects are completed within budget and time frame
The ideal applicant will be a Project Manager - Highways with:
  • Must have Project Management experience within the Civil Engineering / Concrete Repairs / Formwork / Falsework / Bride Repairs / Highways market sectors
  • Must have experience working on New Engineering Contracts (NEC)
  • Experience in managing subcontractors & implementing EWNs and CEs
  • Good understanding of temporary works
  • Must be degree / NVQ Level 5, or equivalent in Civil Engineering or similar construction related discipline
  • Familiar with cost reporting, valuations, and performance reviews
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels both written and verbal
  • Resilient individual that can overcome problems on site
  • Full UK driving license
  • Wants to take charge and be in control
  • Confident and articulate
