Job Description

Your new roleNational Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join our National Programmes team within Operations and will manage the Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF). SDF is Operations largest capital works framework consisting of 50 suppliersdelivering design and construction across all regions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Business, Transportation and Performance (BTP) Division within Operations. Here, you will be driving consistency across the regions, providing contractualsupport and developing the next generation of SDF contract.Your day-to-day role will involve working with different teams across the regions, collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including suppliers, Heads of Scheme Delivery, Programme Managers, Construction Managers, Commercial Managers, Quality Managers,Procurement and Project Managers. You will be reporting to the SDF Framework Lead.This national role is a full-time position that can be based at any of our national offices however frequent travel will be required to other UK sites.What youll be leading on

  • Manage and build effective relationships with key internal and supply chain stakeholders to understand contractual and delivery issues, working collaboratively to implement a solution
  • Support National Operations Community and attend regional community meetings
  • Support non-Operations staff in utilising SDF to deliver works
  • Identify, resolve and manage risks associated in delivering programme and projects
  • Deliver training to regions based on need
  • Manage the renewal of existing contract when it approaches its end date
  • Support wider team in delivering other national programmes, such as PDF, DBFO and trunking
To be successful
  • Proven track record of delivery within complex project and programme environments
  • Good understanding of highway contracts, ideally in schemes
  • Ability to identify, obtain, analyse and interpret performance and commercial data, communicating finding to senior leaders, regions and suppliers
  • Ability to engage with all levels of leadership to understand requirements and to develop appropriate outcomes.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations (desirable)
