Our work with communities cuts across a wide range of policy agendas - from health and socialcare to transport and planning, community cohesion to climate action, jobs and skills to physical activity - and is increasingly recognised nationally as demonstrating best practice in reaching and supporting those from our most disadvantaged communities andachieving significant system and behaviour change.The mission of The Active Wellbeing Society is to Use physical activity, guided by innovation, collaboration and insight, to do the collaborating and development required to create stronger and more resilient communities.Active Communities is a high-profile Sport England programme operating across the health, wellbeing and physical activity economy of Birmingham and Solihull.Introduction to the role : The Programme Support Officer plays a key role in the effective management of the Active Communities Programme that is delivering projects into communities to improve inactive levels of participation. You willbe responsible for providing support across various projects within the programme as well as maintaining a high level of programme governance for the Programme Central Team. You will be responsible for ensuring all related administrative processes are properlyset up and aligned as well as maintaining electronic document management for the programme.The role requires a strong effective communicator both written and orally as the role involves regular communication and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders. By providing support as well as sharing best practice and learning from otherprojects to enhance the Programme. The successful candidate would be able to utilise their skills from the experiences they have gained to support projects and administrative support to ensure the smooth running and operation of the programme.This role would suit a candidate that has experience of document maintenance/management and possess, strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and suggest appropriate solutions. A can do attitude and someone who is proactive to inputideas to improve procedures and processes, would allow the successful candidate to thrive in this role.A note from the recruiting manager: This is a pivotal role in the effective management of the programme with the ability of the programme to make a difference in working with the communities who need the most support to become activeand to remove any potential barriers that prevent them for doing this.MAIN DUTIES
