Job Description

The BDA has been fortunate to have had national funding to undertake a programme of work focusing on the rapid expansion and professional development of the dietetic workforce. There are a broad range of individual projects across dietetic practice, educationand research, which will require skilled management in order to deliver successful outcomes.The PMSO will work within the Education and Professional Practice Team (EPP) to support the delivery of Health Education England (HEE) funded projects relating to workforce reform in dietetic education and professional practice. The PMSO will be the lead coordinatorfor all HEE projects and Programme Management Board. The PMSO will work alongside other EPP team members to ensure the smooth running of the programme through monitoring and reporting of project performance.Programme Management Support Officer Responsibilities:Programme Management Office, Governance & Reporting Youll establish a Programme Management Board, with appropriate management tools in line with relevant HEE and BDA reporting and governance arrangements. Youll act as a conduit between the Programme Management Board, HEE and project leads, ensuring relevant reporting mechanisms are in place. Youll prepare and publish reports as required. Defining relevant deliverables for effective performance management and contributing to all team reviews as required. Youll generate and coordinate resources to support successful meetings. Producing minutes action points that accurately record the key elements of the discussion while recognising the sensitivity of some of the matters under discussion. Youll attend and facilitate project working groups as required and coordinate delivery of designated administrative action points from meetings.Project Management Youll negotiate and manage contracts relating to HEE projects in line with agreed funding profiles and deliverables, ensuring risks to the organisation are minimised. Youll work with Programme Management Board members to enable effective project management expertise, for example ensuring all projects have clearly defined aims, objectives, and agreed outputs, timescales, project plans, budgets and risk management strategies. Youll develop methods and tools in accordance with project management standards to support planning, cost and analyse risks. Youll coordinate HEE projects to including planning, budgets, risk assessment and evaluation. Youll agree timescales, costs and resources and constantly monitor progress, quality and costs Youll work collaboratively with the Programme Management Administrator to deliver high-quality administrative support and ensure the smooth functioning of the Project Management Office.Communications Youll provide content and maintain communications via social media, the BDA website, and BDA eNewsletters. Youll represent the EPP team at events as appropriate. Youll ensure commitment and adherence to the BDA Equality and Diversity policies.Programme Management Support Officer Requirements: Degree level qualification or equivalent. Knowledge of and experience in successfully applying recognised programme and project management methodologies with in-depth knowledge of at least one core set of methodologies. Project management skills. Generating and presenting data. Writing reports. Use of Microsoft Office software. Proven experience of appropriate use of project management tools and techniques. Track record of managing successful programme and project delivery in line with desired outcomes and agreed quality, time and cost limits. Understanding of the complexities of working with a variety of stakeholder groups ideally with an expert. Experience of chairing/facilitating meetings and workshops (in person and/or virtually).
