Job Description

OverviewCity Recruitment Group are recruiting for an Immediately available Production Supervisor to work for an established food manufacturing business on a Permanent basis. Reporting into the Production Manager, this role is paying £24960k-£25k annual salary, Mondayto Friday on site. The working hours are 7.30am-17:30pmTo ensure any Production equipment / machinery is in a Safe condition, run in an efficient manner whilst still maintaining specified Food Safety Standards.Key Responsibilities :

  • To ensure all CCPs, Health & Safety and Quality Policies are always adhered to.
  • To ensure all Production machinery is run to meet the production programme, to specific efficiency targets, whilst complying with Product specs.
  • To be flexible, embracing training contributing to & optimising Factory performance.
  • To accurately report any product Safety, machine, and Quality issues to the Production Manager.
  • To ensure all your production direct reports paperwork is completed accurately, on time and neatly always.
  • To be an active support function in the Continuous Improvement process.
  • To carry out shift handover with your opposite shift counterpart.
  • Ensure all Operative training is up to date to enable them to carry out their job function.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours / shifts and carrying out a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
  • Ensure that the Daily cleaning records are reviewed and signed off daily.
  • Ensure that the knife control remains locked when not in use and knife records are reviewed and signed off.
  • Ensure you have a good working knowledge of all Production processes / machinery.
  • Ensure all Production prestart up documentation is completed.
  • To ensure all paperwork is always completed accurately and neatly
  • To work in an effective manner by performing duties in such a way that may add value to the product, operation, or company.
  • Ensure the Production board is up to date and always maintained.
  • To perform any other reasonable tasks when required.
  • Responsible for monitoring, and programming critical control points (CCP).
Health And Safety :- Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.- To work in a safety conscious, sensible manner that is in accordance again with company procedures and in accordance with received training.- To ensure that all hazards are reported to your Supervisor immediately.- To operate no machinery that are not guarded correctly.- To work in an efficient manner by performing duties in such a way that will not affect the environment negatively, waste materials unnecessarily, damage company property or affect the success of the team of which one is a member and a leader.- To be proactive in managing your personal health, safety and wellbeing and that of your colleagues.- Communicate and co-operate with supervisors and co-workers.- Responsible for monitoring and product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.- Responsible for performing hygiene tasks on equipment and other areas related to your work.- Responsible for the correct recording and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation.- Ensures the correct recipe /specification for products are met during processing.- Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.- Ensures and educates employees on food safety and SQF standards.- Collect product samples for product retention samples.- Perform inspections on Products, Equipment and Machinery.- Perform various audit functions relating to good GMP.- The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.2. Health and Safety, Environment and HousekeepingTo ensure that your workplace is always clean & tidy to Auditable standards.To take an active part in the Walkers Health & Safety committee.To carry out Health & Safety audits within your designated areas of responsibility.To carry out any other Audits as and when required.To carry out Risk Assessments within your designated areas of responsibility.To ensure that all hazards are reported to your Manager immediately.To ensure no machinery is operated without the correct guarding.To work in an efficient manner by performing duties in such a way that will not affect the environment negatively, waste materials unnecessarily, damage company property or affect the success of the team of which one is a member and a leader.3. Communication- All communication requirements must be conducted in a professional, positive and clear manner.- Precise communication whilst relaying instructions, ensuring that they are delivered in a non-misleading manner.- Listening skills must be given equal importance where effective communication is to be achieved.Team Orientation- To work as part of the team which they lead and be a contributor, where possible, to suggest, support and innovate solutions.
