Job Description

As the Production Manager will oversee the daily operations of this established manufacturing plant in the North Birmingham area. This is a pivotal role which requires a strategic thinker with the ability to drive operational efficiency and ensure best practice.Client DetailsThis is a well-established business with an extensive product range and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and services. The progress being seen at their site in the North Birmingham area is a demonstration of their commitment to growthand development.DescriptionAs the Production Manager you will be part of the senior management team and be instrumental in ensuring the continuous improvement of this site. You will be leading a team in working towards achieving operational excellence, embedding a best practice culture.You will not only manage daily manufacturing operations and ensure production targets are met but also support in driving the business vision.

  • Co-ordinate production activities with scheduling, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimal production levels.
  • Implement strategies to increase productivity and meet supply chain demands.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the manufacturing plant.
  • Implement and maintain world class lean processes to drive continuous improvement through waste reduction, production efficiency and operational improvement.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working environment for the team.
  • Oversee the training and development of the production team.
  • Manage budget and production resources to achieve operational efficiency.
ProfileA Production Manager from a complex manufacturing background and a proven track record of driving culture change alongside the following:
  • The ability to manage a team to deliver against defined KPIs.
  • Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing understanding.
  • Health and Safety awareness.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on improving operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and tools (SAP knowledge would be advantageous).
